It is estimated that every year 1.25 to 2.41 million tons of plastic material is being carried by rivers into the seas and oceans. Ingested by marine organisms, such plastics may eventually pass through the food web and can end up ingested by humans.
According to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel, since the beginning of the 20th century, melting ice sheets have contributed an additional 15cm to sea level, which will affect the habitat of more than a billion people in the world..
According to scientists' estimates, 86% of the ocean species is still unknown.
There are up to 1 million species out of about 8 million species of organisms in the world that are in danger of extinction over the next few decades.
We should reduce the amount of waste, throwing wastes properly to its place only and many other simple ways. It is very important to save the environment for human existence. When we protect the environment, we are protecting ourselves and our future as well.
